Indications

• Relief of flatulence
• Treatment of abdominal distention
• Relief of fullness
• Treatment of gas and windy colic
• Large bowel preparation
• Treatment of poisoning

Pharmacology

• Antiflatulent
• Disperses and prevents formation of gas pockets in GI tract
• Changes surface tension of gas bubbles in stomach and intestines
• Enables gas to be eliminated by belching or passing flatus
• Aids in reducing postoperative gas pains
• Enhances visualization prior to gastroscopy
• Reduces gas shadows prior to radiography of the intestine

Dosage & Administration

• Take after meals and at bedtime
• Can be given with infant's feeds
• Shake the bottle well before each use
• Dosage for children less than 2 years of age
• Dosage for children 2-12 years of age
• Dosage for adults

Interaction

• No evidence of modifying the effect of other drugs
• Defoaming effect reduced by antacids such as Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Carbonate

Side Effects

• Physiologically inert
• No adverse effects noted after oral ingestion

Pregnancy & Lactation

• No harmful effects suggested for pregnant women
• Excretion in breast milk not established

Precautions & Warnings

• Do not exceed 12 doses per day without physician's advice and supervision
