Description
Hydrocortisone Tablets are indicated for various conditions such as adrenocortical insufficiency, shock, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hypercalcemia, allergic reactions, neoplastic diseases, and more. It inhibits prostaglandin synthesis and controls protein synthesis. The dosage varies based on the disease entity and patient's response, and should be individually adjusted. It interacts with drugs that induce or inhibit hepatic enzymes. Contraindicated in severe systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity. Side effects may include cardiac arrhythmia, menstrual irregularity, decreased glucose tolerance, fluid retention, weight gain, mood swings, and depression. Caution in patients with peptic ulceration, congestive heart failure, hypertension, glaucoma, diabetes, and epilepsy.
