Indications

  • Anemia due to excessive hemorrhage

  • Anemia associated with malignant disease
  • Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia before, during, and after pregnancy
  • Prophylactic therapy for iron deficiency to cover the recommended daily dietary allowances (RDA)

Pharmacology

  • Polysaccharide-iron complex
  • Necessity for hemoglobin formation
  • Oxidative process facilitation
  • Non-ionic ferric iron and polymaltose in a stable complex
  • Controlled absorption of ferric iron

  • No interaction with food components or other medications

Dosage & Administration

  • Dosage dependent on iron deficiency extent
  • Adults: 10 ml once or twice daily
  • Children (6-12 years): 10 ml daily
  • Children (2-6 years): 5 ml daily
  • Premature infants & Infants: 3.33 mg of elemental iron/kg body weight
