Indications
- Functional bowel/irritable bowel syndrome
- Urinary incontinence secondary to unstable detrusor muscle
- Infantile colic
- GIT spasm
- Colicky abdominal pain
- Diverticulitis
- Abdominal colic
Pharmacology
- Antispasmodic effect on gastrointestinal tract
- Anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) activity
- Relaxes smooth muscle spasm
- Binds to cholinergic receptors
- Prevents certain chemicals from interacting with receptors
- Relieves colic pain
Dosage & Administration
- Adult oral dosage: 10-20 mg three times a day
- Children oral dosage (over 6 months): 5-10 mg three times a day
- Adult intramuscular dosage: 80 mg daily in 4 equally divided doses
- Intramuscular use not recommended for longer than 1-2 days

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B
- Should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed
- Unknown excretion into breast milk
- Cautious use in lactating mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with autonomic neuropathy
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal disease
- Use with caution in patients with ulcerative colitis
- Use with caution in patients with coronary heart disease
- Use with caution in patients with congestive heart failure
- Use with caution in patients with known or suspected prostatic hypertrophy

- Headache
