Indications

Treatment of Iron, Folic acid, Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C deficiency
Prophylaxis of vitamin and mineral deficiency especially in pregnancy

Composition

Ferrous Sulphate: 150 mg
Folic acid: 0.5 mg
Thiamine Mononitrate (vitamin B1): 2 mg
Riboflavin (vitamin B2): 2 mg
Nicotinamide (vitamin B3): 10 mg
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (vitamin B6): 1 mg
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C): 50 mg

Pharmacology

Essential roles of iron in the body
Folic acid synthesis and maintenance of nucleoprotein in erythropoiesis
Vitamin C for collagen formation and tissue repair
Role of vitamin B complex in maintaining cell health and energy levels

Dosage & Administration

Recommended adult dose is one capsule daily. 2 capsules a day may be required in severe deficiency states

Interaction

Care should be taken when given to patients with iron storage or absorption disease. Iron form chelates with antacids and Tetracycline may be impaired if taken concurrently

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Contraindicated in haemachromatosis and haemosiderosis
Cautiously prescribed to patients taking Levodopa

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated with few allergic reactions

Pregnancy & Lactation

Recommended during pregnancy and lactation

Precautions & Warnings

Care should be taken in patients who may develop iron overload. Iron chelates with tetracycline and absorption may be impaired

Overdose Effects

Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children
Higher doses of Nicotinamide may cause vomiting, diarrhea
Sensory neuropathy observed in individuals consuming more than 200 mg Pyridoxine for long periods
