Indications
- Treatment of Zinc, Iron, Folic Acid, B-vitamins and Vitamin-C deficiency during pregnancy and lactation
Composition
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate 61.8 mg
- Dried Ferrous Sulphate 150 mg
- Folic Acid (Vitamin-B9) 0.50 mg
- Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin-B1) 2 mg
- Riboflavin (Vitamin-B2) 2 mg
- Nicotinamide (Vitamin-B3) 10 mg
- Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin-B6) 1 mg
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin-C) 50 mg
Pharmacology
- Zinc sulfate precipitates protein and has astringent and weak antiseptic activity
- Iron plays a role in making red blood cells
- Folic acid is essential for the production of certain coenzymes in metabolic systems, as well as in the synthesis and maintenance of nucleoprotein in erythropoiesis
- Nicotinamide is incorporated into coenzymes involved in cellular metabolic pathways
- Vitamin C is necessary for collagen formation and tissue repair, and plays a role in oxidation/reduction reactions and other metabolic pathways
- Vitamin B complex is important for maintaining cell health and energy levels
Dosage & Administration
- One capsule daily, may increase to 2 capsules in severe cases or as directed by physician
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients

- Generally well tolerated, but may cause allergic reactions in some individuals

- Care should be taken in patients who may develop iron overload
Overdose Effects
- Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children below 6 years
- Avoid higher doses if liver disease or haemochromatosis
- Excess can cause various symptoms such as bloody diarrhea, vomiting, acidosis, darkened stools, and abdominal pain
