Indications
- Treatment and prophylaxis of Zinc, Iron, Folic Acid, B-vitamins and Vitamin-C deficiency especially during pregnancy and lactation
Composition
- Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate 61.8 mg
- Dried Ferrous Sulphate 150 mg
- Folic Acid (Vitamin-B9) 0.50 mg
- Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin-B1) 2 mg
- Riboflavin (Vitamin-B2) 2 mg
- Nicotinamide (Vitamin-B3) 10 mg
- Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin-B6) 1 mg
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin-C) 50 mg
Pharmacology
- Zinc sulfate precipitates protein and has astringent and weak antiseptic activity
- Iron helps make red blood cells and prevent iron deficiency anaemia
- Folic acid is essential for coenzyme production and nucleoprotein synthesis
- Nicotinamide is involved in cellular metabolic pathways
- Vitamin C is necessary for collagen formation and tissue repair
- Vitamin B complex is necessary for overall health
Dosage & Administration
- One capsule daily. In severe cases, 2 capsules may be required or as directed by the physician
Contraindications
- Not to be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Side Effects
- Generally well tolerated, but few allergic reactions may occur
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Care should be taken in patients who may develop iron overload
- Iron chelates with tetracycline and absorption may be impaired
Overdose Effects
- Accidental overdose of iron-containing products can be fatal in young children
- Riboflavin, Nicotinamide, and Folic acid overdosage may cause specific symptoms
- Acute ingestion of Ascorbic acid is unlikely to cause significant effects
- Zinc toxicity can lead to altered iron function, reduced immune function, and reduced levels of high-density lipoproteins
