Composition
- Each capsule contains Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate 61.8 mg
- Each capsule contains Dried Ferrous Sulphate 150 mg
- Each capsule contains Folic Acid (Vitamin-B9) 0.50 mg
- Each capsule contains Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin-B1) 2 mg
- Each capsule contains Riboflavin (Vitamin-B2) 2 mg
- Each capsule contains Nicotinamide (Vitamin-B3) 10 mg
- Each capsule contains Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin-B6) 1 mg
- Each capsule contains Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin-C) 50 mg
Pharmacology
- Zinc sulfate precipitates protein and has astringent and weak antiseptic activity
- Iron is essential for making red blood cells and preventing iron deficiency anaemia
- Folic acid is essential for coenzyme production and nucleoprotein synthesis
- Nicotinamide is involved in multiple cellular metabolic pathways
- Vitamin C is necessary for collagen formation and oxidation/reduction reactions
- Vitamin B complex is important for maintaining cell health and energy
Dosage & Administration
- One capsule daily
- In severe cases, 2 capsules a day may be required
- Or as directed by the physician
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
Side Effects
- Generally well tolerated
- May cause allergic reactions in some individuals
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Care should be taken in patients who may develop iron overload
- Iron chelates with tetracycline and absorption may be impaired
Overdose Effects
- Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children below 6 years
- Avoid higher doses if liver disease or haemochromatosis is present
- Excess may cause symptoms like bloody diarrhea, vomiting, acidosis, darkened stools, and abdominal pain
- Acute ingestion of Ascorbic acid, even of massive doses, is unlikely to cause significant effects
- Zinc toxicity associated with low copper status, altered iron function, and reduced immune function
