Indications

  • Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid and Zinc deficiency
  • Prophylaxis during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

  • Each capsule contains Ferrous Sulphate BP 150 mg
  • Folic Acid BP 500 mcg
  • Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP 61.80 mg

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult or Elderly: 1-2 capsules daily
  • Children over 1 year: 1 capsule daily
  • Can be mixed with soft cool food for children

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the components
  • Iron overload

Side Effects

  • Dark stools
  • Nausea
  • Gastrointestinal irritation

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid use during first trimester if possible

  • Take caution in patients who may develop Iron overloads
  • Failure to respond to treatment may indicate other causes of anemia
  • Potential interactions with tetracycline, penicillamine, antacids
  • Reduced absorption of Zinc in presence of Iron
  • Risk of Zinc accumulation in patients with renal failure

Overdose Effects

  • Danger of Iron overdosage, requires immediate attention
  • Symptoms and treatment for Zinc Sulphate overdose
  • Symptomatic and supportive measures as required
  • Timed-release capsule may delay excessive absorption of Iron and Zinc
