Indications

  • Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid, and Zinc deficiency
  • Prophylaxis during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

  • Timed-release capsule
  • Ferrous Sulphate BP 150 mg (equivalent to 47 mg Iron)
  • Folic Acid BP 500 mcg
  • Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP 61.80 mg (equivalent to 22.50 mg Zinc)

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult or Elderly: 1-2 capsules daily
  • Children aged over 1 year: 1 capsule daily
  • Capsules may be opened and pellets mixed with soft cool food

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to components of the product
  • Iron overload

Side Effects

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Investigate failure to respond to treatment
  • Potential interactions with tetracycline
  • Reduced absorption of Zinc in presence of Iron
  • Reduced Iron absorption by penicillamine and antacids
  • Separate administration of products by several hours

Overdose Effects

  • Iron overdosage is dangerous especially in children
  • Immediate attention required for Iron overdose
  • Symptomatic and supportive measures for Zinc overdose
  • Gastric lavage or emesis should be avoided for Zinc overdose
