Indications

• Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid and Zinc deficiency
• Pregnancy and lactation

Composition

• Elemental iron 50 mg
• Folic acid BP 500 microgram
• Zinc sulphate monohydrate USP 61.80 mg

Pharmacology

• Combined preparation of Carbonyl Iron, Folic Acid and Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate
• High bioavailability of Carbonyl Iron

Dosage & Administration

• One capsule daily before food for adults

Interaction

• Carbonyl Iron decreases absorption of certain antibiotics and medications
• Folic Acid interacts with antiepileptics

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to any component
• Iron overload

Side Effects

• Gastrointestinal irritations such as nausea, vomiting
• Possibility of dark stool
• Rare allergic reactions

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Need for definite evidence of Iron deficiency during first trimester

Precautions & Warnings

• Special care required in patients with Iron overload states
• Failure to respond to treatment requires further investigations

Overdose Effects

• Symptoms include decreased energy, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, coma
