Pharmacology
- Coenzyme form of vitamin B12
- Cofactor in methionine synthase enzyme
- Required for myelin integrity

Dosage & Administration
- 0.5 mg tablet
- Tablet dosage 3 times daily after meal
- IM or IV injection administration
- 1 ampoule (Mecobalamin 500 mcg) daily
- Dose adjusted according to patient's age and symptoms
- Not recommended for use in children
Interaction
- Reduced absorption by neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, histamine H2-antagonists, omeprazole, and colchicine
- Decreased serum concentrations by oral contraceptives
