Indications
- Anti-spasmodic medication
- Used for smooth muscle spasm in abdominal cavity and genitourinary tract
- Recommended for gastrointestinal and genitourinary spasm symptoms
- Indicated for spastic dysmenorrhea
- Recommended for intense gastrointestinal or biliary pain
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times a day
- Pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg three times a day or as directed by a healthcare professional
- Injection dosage for adults: 20mg administered in muscles or veins with a possible repeat after 30 minutes
Contraindications
- Prostatic enlargement patients should avoid usage
- Caution required for elderly individuals
- Contraindicated for patients with paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis
- Avoid usage in patients with glaucoma as it may exacerbate mydriasis
Side Effects
- Dryness of the mouth
- Dilation of the pupils
- Increased intra-ocular pressure
- Flushing
- Dizziness
- Bradycardia followed by tachycardia and arrhythmia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution during the first trimester of pregnancy
