Indications
- Antispasmodic medicine for smooth muscle
- Recommended for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract spasm
- Prescribed for dysmenorrhea
- Used for intense gastrointestinal or biliary pain
- Indicated in radiological preventive treatment
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg thrice daily
- Injection dose: 20mg for muscular or vascular use
Contraindications
- Prostatic enlargement patients
- Not to be used in paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis
- Avoid in patients with glaucoma
Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Dilated pupils
- Increased intra-ocular pressure
- Flushing
- Dizziness
- Tachycardia
- Blurred vision
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in the first trimester of pregnancy
Precautions & Warnings
- May cause drowsiness
- Patients should not drive or operate machinery
- Caution in patients with thyroid disorders or cardiac insufficiency
- Limit use with other anticholinergic drugs
