Indications
- Treatment of thiamine deficiency manifestations
- Management of neuritis associated with pregnancy
- Prophylactic use in low dietary intake conditions
- Use in conditions with impaired gastrointestinal absorption of thiamine

Pharmacology
- Thiamine pyrophosphate as coenzyme for decarboxylation of α-ketoglutaric acid
- Affects peripheral nervous system, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system
- Necessary for optimal growth of infants and children
- Essential for maintaining normal health
- Rapid absorption from upper small intestine, not stored in the body
Dosage & Administration
- Prophylaxis: 3 to 10 mg daily
- Mild chronic deficiency: 10 to 25 mg daily
- Severe deficiency: 200 to 300 mg daily

- Acts synergistically with other B-complex vitamins
- Low potential for causing adverse effects

Contraindications
- No absolute contraindication
- Increased risk of anaphylaxis with repeated parenteral administration
