Indications
- Anticholinergic medication for smooth muscle antispasmodic activity in the abdominal and genitourinary tracts
- Recommended for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract spastic symptoms
- Also indicated for spastic dysmenorrhea and intense abdominal or biliary pain
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times a day
- Pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg three times a day or as directed by a physician
- Injection dosage: 20mg for muscle or nerve application, with increased frequency for endoscopic procedures
Contraindications
- Not recommended for patients with prostatic enlargement or paralytic ileus
- Avoid use in patients with pyloric stenosis or glaucoma
- Contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis, paralytic ileus, or glaucoma
Side Effects
- Potential side effects include dry mouth, pupil dilation, increased intraocular pressure, flushing, dry skin, bradycardia, tachycardia, arrhythmia, fatigue, vomiting, dizziness, and staggering
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution during the first trimester similar to other medications

- May cause drowsiness and mental alertness impairment
- Caution advised during driving or operating heavy machinery
- Use with caution in thyroid disorders, cardiac insufficiency, or heart conduction abnormalities

Reconstitution
- Can be reconstituted with dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride injection
