Indications
- Antispasmodic action on smooth muscles of abdominal and genitourinary tracts
- Relief of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract spasms
- Treatment of spasmodic dysmenorrhea
- Relief of renal or biliary colic
- Utilized in radiological, pylographic, and gastro-duodenal endoscopic procedures
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg three times daily or as directed by physician
- Dosage for intramuscular or intravenous administration: 20mg for adults, may repeat after 30 minutes if necessary
Contraindications
- Prostatic hypertrophy patients should not use it
- Caution should be exercised in the elderly
- Prohibited in paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis patients
- Patients with glaucoma should avoid using it
Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Mydriasis
- Increased intraocular pressure
- Flushing
- Dry skin
- Bradycardia and subsequent tachycardia
- Fatigue, nausea, dizziness, and ataxia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in the first trimester
Precautions & Warnings
- May cause drowsiness and impair mental alertness
- Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery
- Caution for patients with thyrotoxicosis, cardiac insufficiency, or failure
- May potentiate the effect of other anticholinergics and tricyclic antidepressants
- Reduce dosage if used with other anticholinergics
Therapeutic Class

Reconstitution
- Reconstitute with dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride injection

- Do not use after expiry date
- Keep out of reach of children
