Indications
- Antispasmodic medication
- Relieves smooth muscle spasm
- Indicated for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract spasms
- Recommended for spastic dysmenorrhea
- Used in radio-diagnosis to reduce spasm
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg three times daily or as directed by physician
- Intramuscular injection dosage: 20mg for general application, may repeat after 30 minutes if necessary
- Higher dosage for endoscopy procedures
Contraindications
- Prostatic enlargement patients should not use
- Elderly patients should use with caution
- Prohibited for paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis patients
- Not to be used in patients with glaucoma
- Avoid in patients with myasthenic conditions
Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Pupil dilation
- Increased intra-ocular pressure
- Flushing
- Dry skin
- Bradycardia and subsequent tachycardia
- Dizziness, vomiting, and ataxia may occur occasionally
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in first trimester of pregnancy

- May cause drowsiness and mental alertness should be avoided
- Caution while driving or operating machinery
- Avoid alcohol consumption
- Exercise caution with thyroid disorders, cardiac insufficiency or failure, and atrial arrhythmias
- Drug interactions with other anticholinergics or tricyclic antidepressants

Reconstitution
- Can be reconstituted with dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride injection
