Indications

- Micronutrient deficiencies during pregnancy or lactation

Pharmacology
- Vitamin B-Complex and Vitamin C as cofactors of various enzymes
- Thiamine acts as a cofactor in the decarboxylation of keto acids
- Riboflavin plays a vital role in cellular respiratory reactions
- Pyridoxine takes part in decarboxylation and interconversion of amino acids
- Vitamin B12 required for synthesis of DNA and maturation of RBCs
- Nicotinamide plays a vital role in cellular respiration
- Calcium Pantothenate functions as a cofactor for enzymes involved in transfer of acetyl groups
- Folic acid takes part in reactions involved in the synthesis of nucleotides and maturation of RBCs
- Ascorbic acid takes part in biochemical reactions involving oxidation
- Adequate supply of water-soluble vitamins is required for optimum function of cells and tissues
Dosage & Administration
- One capsule daily or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Folic acid may lower the serum concentration of phenytoin
- Pyridoxine can reduce the effect of levodopa
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this preparation
Side Effects
- Allergic reactions may occur in patients hypersensitive to any component in the preparation
- Rare reports of anaphylactoid reactions following repeated injection of preparations containing thiamine
- Flushing, itching, or burning of the skin may occur in patients susceptible to the effects of nicotinamide
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Published reports on safe administration of water-soluble vitamins in pregnancy
Precautions & Warnings
- Specific therapy for the primary illness in patients with deficiency or increased requirement of Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C
- Treatment should be continued only until the deficiency is corrected or the need for supplementation exists
- Pyridoxine may reduce therapeutic effects of levodopa in Parkinson's disease
- Riboflavin may color the urine yellow
- Presence of ascorbic acid may give a false positive result for sugar by Benedict's test
