Indications
- antispasmodic action
- relieves symptoms of gastro-intestinal and genito-urinary tract
- recommended for spasmodic dysmenorrhea
- prescribed for gastric and intestinal colic
- treatment for renal or biliary severe pain
Dosage & Administration
- adult dosage: 20mg four times a day
- pediatric dosage (6-12 years): 10mg three times a day or as per doctor's instruction
- injection dosage for adults: 20mg for muscle or nerve application
- injection required for endoscopy may need higher frequency
Contraindications
- prostatic hypertrophy patient should avoid usage
- elderly individuals must use with caution
- avoid in parasitic ileus or pyloric stenosis
- prohibition for patients with glaucoma due to potential mydriatic effect
Side Effects
- dry mouth
- pupil dilation
- intra-ocular pressure increase
- flushing
- skin dryness
- bradycardia and later tachycardia
- occasional fatigue, vomiting, dizziness and staggering
Pregnancy & Lactation
- use with caution in first trimester
Precautions & Warnings
- may cause drowsiness and mental alertness impairment
- patients using this medication should avoid driving or operating machinery
- caution in hyperthyroidism, cardiac insufficiency, or failure and tachycardia
- careful when co-administering with other anticholinergics, antihistamines, beta-adrenoceptor stimulants, and tricyclic antidepressants as it may increase its effect

Reconstitution
- reconstitute the injection with dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride injection
