Indications
- Antispasmodic medication
- Relief from gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract symptoms
- Treatment of spastic dysmenorrhea
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 20mg four times daily
- Pediatric dosage: 10mg three times daily or as directed by a physician
- Injection dosage: 20mg for adults, administered in muscles or veins
- Injection for endoscopy may require higher frequency
Contraindications
- Prostatic hypertrophy sufferers should not use this medication
- Elderly individuals should use the drug with caution
- Patients with paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis should avoid the medication
- Avoid use in individuals with glaucoma or myasthenia gravis
Side Effects
- Potential side effects include dry mouth, mydriasis, increased intra-ocular pressure, flushing, dry skin, bradycardia, tachycardia, and arrhythmia
- May also cause fatigue, vomiting, dizziness, and tremors
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use with caution in the first trimester of pregnancy

- Patients on this medication should be cautious while operating vehicles or machinery
