Pharmacology

Contains the most important members of the vitamin B group in pure form and therapeutically balanced proportions. Components regulate carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Deficiency causes glossitis, stomatitis, cheilosis, polyneuritis, beriberi, pellagra, and vascularisation of cornea.

Dosage & Administration

Tablet/capsule: Usual recommended dose 1-2 tablet/capsule 3 times daily
Syrup: 2-3 teaspoonful daily
Injection: Intramuscular and intravenous administration, usual recommended dose 2 ml daily

Interaction

Pyridoxine can decrease the efficacy of levodopa in parkinsonism treatment

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of its components

Side Effects

Adverse reactions possible at higher levels, allergic and idiosyncratic reactions possible at lower levels, iron associated with gastrointestinal intolerance in some patients
