Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose is 1-2 tablets three times daily
- Adult dose of 2-4 ml injection subcutaneously or intramuscularly
- Dose of 2-4 ml for acute stone colic by slow intravenous injection
- Children's dose varies by age and body weight
Interaction
- May attenuate the action of levodopa
- Additive beneficial effect with concurrent use of analgesics, antimuscarinics, or benzodiazepines
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Drotaverine HCl
