Acecol 100 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis
• Relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis
• Relief of pain and inflammation in ankylosing spondylitis
• Relief of toothache
• Relief of trauma
• Relief of lumbago

Pharmacology

• Non-steroidal drug with anti-inflammatory properties
• Potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzyme
• Rapid and complete absorption after oral administration

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended dose for adults: 200 mg extended-release tablet daily
• Recommended dose for adults: 100 mg film-coated tablet twice daily

Interaction

• Close monitoring required with lithium and digoxin
• Potential interaction with diuretics
• Potential enhancement of anticoagulant activity
• Potential increase in plasma level of methotrexate

Contraindications

• Patients with known hypersensitivity to Aceclofenac
• Patients in whom aspirin or NSAIDs precipitate asthma attacks

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Avoid use in pregnancy and lactation unless benefits outweigh risks

Precautions & Warnings

• Caution in patients with active or suspected peptic ulcer
• Caution in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding
• Caution in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment
• Caution in patients with cardiac or renal impairment
• Caution in patients suffering from dizziness or urticaria

Use in Special Populations

• No clinical data on the use of Acecol in children
