Interaction
- Decreased absorption of β carotene with cholestyramine, colestipol, neomycin
- Reduced vitamin C levels with oral contraceptives, tetracycline, aspirin
- Vitamin E enhancing anticoagulant activity
- High doses of vitamin E impairing absorption of vitamins A and K
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of its components

- Hypercarotenosis with large carotenoid intake
- Gastrointestinal upset with large vitamin C doses
- Renal stone formation with large vitamin C doses
- Diarrhea with high vitamin E doses
- Abdominal pain or cramps with high vitamin E doses
- Fatigue with high vitamin E doses
- Reduced resistance to bacterial infection with high vitamin E doses
- Transiently raised blood pressure with high vitamin E doses
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No teratogenic effects in humans
- Caution in prescribing to pregnant women
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in heavy smokers and alcoholics with β carotene
- Caution in hyperoxaluria patients with vitamin C
- Caution in patients taking anticoagulant drugs with vitamin E
