Description

Musculotropic antispasmodic agent

Indications

Symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Chronic irritable colon
Spastic constipation
Mucous colitis
Colicky abdominal pain
Persistent non-specific diarrhoea

Dosage & Administration

Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135 mg tablet: 1 tablet 03 times daily for adults, elderly and children over 10 years
Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200 mg capsule: 1 capsule 02 times daily for adults, elderly and children over 10 years
Most effective when taken 20 minutes before meals
Gradual dosage reduction after several weeks of desired effect
Missed dose instructions
Not recommended for children under 10 years

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug or any other ingredients

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated
Possible side-effects: skin rash, urticaria, angioedema

Pregnancy & Lactation

No teratogenicity shown in animal experiments
Usual precautions during pregnancy
Does not excrete in breast milk at therapeutic dose
