Indications

  • Symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

Description

  • Musculotropic antispasmodic agent
  • Relieves cramps or spasms of the stomach and intestine
  • Useful in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Relaxes the muscles
  • Restores the normal movement of the gut

Dosage & Administration

  • Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135 mg tablet: 1 tablet 03 times daily
  • Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200 mg capsule: 1 capsule 02 times daily
  • Most effective when taken 20 minutes before meals
  • Gradual dosage reduction after several weeks
  • Missed dose management
  • Not recommended for children under 10 years

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug or any other ingredients

Side Effects

  • Generally well tolerated
  • May cause skin rash, urticaria, and angioedema

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • No teratogenicity shown in animal experiments
