Indications
- Treatment and prevention of vitamin and mineral deficiencies
- Associated with restricted diets, improper food intake, alcoholism
- Increased requirements for vitamins and minerals due to acute and chronic diseases
- Pregnancy, lactation, menopause, infections
- Birth defects prevention through periconceptional supplementation
Composition
- Balanced combination of multivitamin and multimineral
- Sugar-coated tablet
- Contains vitamin A, D, B1, B2, B6, Nicotinamide, Cyanocobalamin, Calcium pantothenate, Folic acid, Vitamin C, E
- Minerals include Ferrous Sulphate, Cupric Sulphate, Magnesium Sulphate, Zinc Sulphate, Potassium Iodide, Potassium Sulphate
Pharmacology
- Essential for normal metabolic functions including hematopoiesis
- Vitamin B-group components regulate carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism
- Vitamin C involved in tissue repair and collagen formation
- Vitamin A essential for retina function and tissue growth
- Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant
- Iron, Copper, Manganese, Zinc serve as catalysts in enzyme systems
Dosage & Administration
- Orally one tablet daily for adults and children over 5 years of age
- Or as directed by physicians
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any components
- Not intended for treatment of severe specific deficiencies
- Not recommended for patients undergoing treatment with levodopa
- Larger doses of vitamin A during first trimester of pregnancy may be teratogenic
Side Effects
- Reported at substantially higher levels than in this tablet
- Iron may cause gastrointestinal intolerance in some patients
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Recommended daily dose should not be exceeded during the first trimester of pregnancy
- Larger doses of Vitamin-A may be teratogenic
Precautions & Warnings
- Not intended for treatment of pernicious anemia or other megaloblastic anemia
