Composition
- Each tablet contains 1250 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium & 200 IU Vitamin D
- Each DX tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D
- Each effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D3
Pharmacology
- Adequate Calcium is vital for bodily functions
- Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption and bone formation
Dosage & Administration
- Take one tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink orally
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce vitamin D absorption
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with tetracycline absorption
- Hypercalcemia may increase cardiac glycoside toxicity
- Concurrent use with bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride affects gastrointestinal absorption
