Composition

  • Each tablet contains 1250 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium & 200 IU Vitamin D
  • Each DX tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D
  • Each effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D3

Pharmacology

  • Adequate Calcium is vital for bodily functions
  • Vitamin D aids in Calcium absorption and bone formation

Dosage & Administration

  • Take one tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water
  • Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink orally

Interaction

  • Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
  • Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
  • Ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce vitamin D absorption
  • Calcium carbonate may interfere with tetracycline absorption
  • Hypercalcemia may increase cardiac glycoside toxicity
  • Concurrent use with bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride affects gastrointestinal absorption
