Pharmacology
- Preparation of Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)

- Prevention of osteoporosis & bone fracture
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage: Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU Tablet - 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily
- Dosage: Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet - 1 tablet twice daily
- Best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption
Interaction
- Possible interaction with calcium, aluminium or magnesium containing antacids
- Interaction with other calcium supplements
- Interaction with calcitriol & other vitamin D3 supplements
- Interaction with digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline or oxytetracycline
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia
- Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism
- Contraindicated in renal calculi & nephrolithiasis
- Contraindicated in Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
