Pharmacology
- Contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)
- Promotes bone formation
- Assists in bone maintenance
- Aids in absorption and reabsorption of Calcium
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage of 500 mg Calcium and 200 IU Vitamin D3 Tablet: 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily
- Dosage of 500 mg Calcium and 400 IU Vitamin D3 Tablet: 1 tablet twice daily
- Best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption
Interaction
- Possible interactions with antacids containing calcium, aluminium or magnesium
- Interaction with calcitriol and other vitamin D3 supplements
- Interaction with digoxin and certain antibiotics
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia
- Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism
- Contraindicated in renal calculi & nephrolithiasis
- Contraindicated in Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
