Dosage & Administration
- Dosage of Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 IU Tablet: 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily
- Dosage of Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU Tablet: 1 tablet twice daily
- Best taken with or just after a meal to improve absorption
Interaction
- Possible interaction with calcium, aluminium, or magnesium containing antacids & other calcium supplements
- Interaction with calcitriol & other vitamin D3 supplements
- Interaction with digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia
- Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism
- Contraindicated in renal calculi & nephrolithiasis
- Contraindicated in Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Side Effects
- Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, increased urination
- Constipation may occur
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use as directed by physician during pregnancy or while breast-feeding
Precautions & Warnings
- Precautions should be taken if there is any pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease
Overdose Effects
- Symptoms of overdosage may include nausea, vomiting, severe drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, diarrhea, headache, constipation
