Pharmacology
- Contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)
- Calcium necessary for bone formation and maintenance
- Vitamin D3 aids in absorption and reabsorption of Calcium
- Vitamin D3 stimulates bone formation
- Aids in bone growth
- Prevention of osteoporosis and bone fracture
Dosage & Administration
- 500 mg Calcium and 200 IU Vitamin D3 Tablet: 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet twice daily
- 500 mg Calcium and 400 IU Vitamin D3 Tablet: 1 tablet twice daily
- Best taken with or just after a meal for improved absorption
Interaction
- Possible interaction with antacids containing calcium, aluminium, or magnesium
- Interaction with other calcium supplements
- Interaction with calcitriol and other vitamin D3 supplements
- Interaction with digoxin
- Interaction with tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia
- Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism
- Contraindicated in renal calculi and nephrolithiasis
- Contraindicated in Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
