Composition
- 600 mg elemental Calcium (Calcium Carbonate BP)
- 200 IU Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)
- 40 mg Magnesium (Magnesium Oxide BP)
- 1.8 mg Manganese (Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate BP)
- 1 mg Copper (Cupric Oxide)
- 250 mcg Boron (Boron Citrate)
- 7.5 mg Zinc (Zinc Oxide BP)
Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily
- Preferably 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening
- Best taken with or just after main meals with a full glass of water
- Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily
- Children 7 years and older: 1 to 2 effervescent tablets daily
Interaction
- Risk of hypercalcemia with thiazide diuretics
- Avoiding hypocalcaemia in digitalized patients
- Impact of certain foods on calcium absorption
- Concomitant treatment effects with phenytoin or barbiturates
- Concomitant use effects with glucocorticoids
- Attenuation of effects of digitalis and cardiac glycosides
- Reduction of absorption of thyroxin, bisphosphonates, fluoroquinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, and iron by calcium salts
Contraindications
- Absolute contraindications: hypercalcaemia, bone metastasis, primary hyperparathyroidism, Vitamin-D3 overdosage, severe renal failure, hypersensitivity to tablet ingredients
- Relative contraindications: osteoporosis due to prolonged immobilisation, renal stones, severe hypercalciuria
Side Effects
- Mild gastrointestinal disturbances (constipation, flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, diarrhea) with calcium supplements
- Occasional skin rash with vitamin-D3 supplements
- Hypercalciuria and rare cases of hypercalcaemia with long-term high-dose treatment
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Increased requirements for calcium and vitamin-D3 during pregnancy and lactation
- Caution with co-administration of calcium and iron supplements
- Potential teratogenic effects of vitamin-D3 overdoses in pregnant animals
- Passage of vitamin-D3 and its metabolites into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Supervision for patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria
- Periodic checks of plasma and urinary calcium levels
- Monitoring of serum and urinary calcium levels and kidney function with long-term treatment
- Exclusion of hypercalciuria in patients with a history of renal stones
Overdose Effects
- Nausea, vomiting, severe drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, diarrhea, headache, constipation
