Pharmacology
Essential nutrients like Calcium, Magnesium, and Vitamin D3 for bone health. Micronutrients like Copper, Manganese, Zinc & Boron play a vital role in bone strength and rigidity.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily with water and meals. Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily. Children 7 years and older: 1-2 effervescent tablet daily.
Interaction
Potential interactions with thiazide diuretics, phenytoin, barbiturates, glucocorticoids, digitalis, and other cardiac glycosides. Food and drug absorption interactions also apply.
Contraindications
Absolute contraindications include hypercalcemia, bone metastasis, primary hyperparathyroidism, Vitamin-D 3 overdosage, Severe renal failure, and hypersensitivity to any tablet ingredient. Relative contraindications include severe hypercalciuria.
Side Effects
Mild gastrointestinal disturbances, occasional skin rash, hypercalciuria, and rare cases of hypercalcemia with long-term high-dose treatment.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Supervision required, increased calcium and vitamin-D 3 requirements during pregnancy and lactation, precautions against overdosage effects, and passage of Vitamin-D 3 and metabolites into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Supervision for patients with mild to moderate renal failure, periodic checks of plasma calcium levels, urinary calcium excretion, and kidney function. Caution for patients with a history of renal stones and urinary calcium excretion measurement.
Overdose Effects
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, diarrhea, headache, and constipation.
