Indications
- Reduces muscle spasm of the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
Pharmacology
- Tiemonium Methylsulphate is a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
- Strengthens calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cell
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Children dose: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily, through Intravenous or Intramuscular route
- Suppository: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily through rectal route
Interaction
- Prior consultation with a registered physician is required before using with other drugs
Contraindications
- Not for use in urethroprostatic disorders involving urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
Side Effects
- Risk of hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Animal studies have not revealed teratogenic effects
- Prudence advised for nursing mothers due to insufficient data
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution needed for patients with prostate disorders, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal & hepatic insufficiency
