Indications
- Reduces muscle spasm in the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynecological diseases
Pharmacology
- Competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
- Strengthens calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cell
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily
- Children's dose: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily
- Injection dose: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository dose: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Should not be used with other drugs without consultation of a registered physician
Contraindications
- Avoid use in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
Side Effects
- May cause hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Animal studies did not reveal teratogenic effects
- Prudence advised for nursing mothers
