Indication
Tinimet is used for symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system, and for the treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
Pharmacology
Tiemonium Methylsulphate acts as a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine, Histamine, and strengthens the calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
Dosage and administration
- Adults: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Children: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily, through Intravenous route slowly or Intramuscular route
- Suppository: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily through rectal route
Interactions
Tinimet should not be used with other drugs without prior consultation with a registered physician
Contraindications
Tinimet should not be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention and in patients with a risk of angle closure glaucoma
Side effects
Tinimet may have the risk of hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals
Pregnancy and lactation
The results of animal studies did not reveal any teratogenic effects; caution should be observed in nursing mothers
Precautions and warnings
Caution should be taken in patients with disorders of the prostate, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal and hepatic insufficiency
Pediatric use
Safety and effectiveness of Tinimet in pediatric patients have not been established
Geriatric use
Efficacy and safety were maintained with increasing age
