Indications
- Reduces muscle spasm of the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Used in treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Indicated for the treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
Pharmacology
- Competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
- Strengthens calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cell
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Children dosage: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection dosage: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository dosage: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Should not be used with other drugs without consulting a physician
Contraindications
- Not to be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma

- Risk of hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals

- Prudence suggested for nursing mothers due to insufficient data
