Indications

  • Source of amino acids for protein synthesis

Composition

Contraindications

Precautions & Warnings

  • Risk of hyperphenylalaninemia in severely ill, premature infants
  • Caution in patients with diabetes, heart failure, or renal function issues
  • Possible thiamine deficiency syndrome in severely malnourished patients
  • Monitoring of serum potassium and blood glucose recommended
  • Additional phosphate supply for patients with hypophosphatemia

Overdose Effects

  • Augmented risk of nausea, vomiting, and sweating
  • Potential thrombophlebitis and osmotic diuresis with dehydration
  • Symptoms related to hyperglycemia
