Indications

Composition
- Sodium Chloride BP 1.30 gm
- Potassium Chloride BP 0.75 gm
- Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate BP 1.45 gm
- Glucose Anhydrous BP 6.75 gm
Pharmacology
- Formulation of oral rehydration salt
- Treatment and prevention of dehydration
- Prevention of acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance
Dosage
- Daily dose equivalent to patient's fluid requirement
- Children less than 2 years: 50-100 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
- Children 2 to 10 years: 100-200 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
- Adults and children above 10 years: 200-400 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
Administration
- Disperse sachet contents in 500 mL of pure drinking water
- Do not mix with hot water
- Discard unused prepared solution after 12 hours
Interaction
- No known drug interactions
Precautions & Warnings
- Supplementation with parenteral fluids may be needed in cases of depressed renal function or severe fluid losses
