Description
- Reduces muscle spasm of the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Indicated for symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Treats spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
- Competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
- Strengthens calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cells causing inhibition of visceral spasm and pain
- Usual dosage for adults: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Usual dosage for children: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Caution during treatment of patients with disorders of the prostate, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal & hepatic insufficiency
- Storage: Keep in a dry place, away from light and heat, out of the reach of children
- Pregnancy & Lactation: No teratogenic effects observed in animal studies, prudence should be exercised by nursing mothers
- Contraindications: Not to be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention, and in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
- Interaction: Should not be used with other drugs without consulting a physician to avoid possible drug interaction
- Side Effects: Risk of hypotension & tachycardia in certain individuals
- Therapeutic Class: Anticholinergics
