Indications

Composition

    • Sodium Chloride BP: 1.30 gm
    • Potassium Chloride BP: 0.75 gm
    • Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate BP: 1.45 gm
    • Glucose Anhydrous BP: 6.75 gm

Pharmacology

  • Oral rehydration salt preparation
  • Contains glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and sodium citrate
  • Treats or prevents dehydration from diarrhea
  • Prevents acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance

Dosage

    • Children less than 2 years: 50-100 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
    • Children 2 to 10 years: 100-200 mL after each loose stool or vomiting
    • Adult and children above 10 years: 200-400 mL after each loose stool or vomiting

Administration

  • Sachet contents to be dispersed in 500 mL of pure drinking water
  • Do not mix with hot water
  • Discard unused solution after 12 hours

Interaction

  • No known drug interactions

Precautions & Warnings

  • Patients with depressed renal function to use with caution
  • Severe continuing diarrhea may require parenteral fluid supplementation
