Description

Libott 5% Dextrose Solution is administered to treat carbohydrate and fluid depletions, replace water deficiency, treat low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), insulin shock, or dehydration, and provide nutritional support to patients. It is used for emergency management of hyperkalemia, during treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis, and also as a suitable vehicle for the slow intravenous infusion of numerous drugs.

  • Low potassium or anxiety, sweating, pale skin, severe shortness of breath, fast or uneven heart rate

Administration Steps

  • Clean venipuncture site with antiseptic solution and secure taping of puncture site and tubing
