Description
Viset is an antispasmodic drug that reduces muscle spasm in various areas of the body including the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus. It is used to treat pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system, as well as spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases.
Indications
- Reduces muscle spasm in the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
Pharmacology
- Competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
- Strengthens calcium bond with membrane phospholipids and proteins
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cells which causes inhibition of visceral spasm and pain
DosageAdministration
- Tablet/Syrup
- Adult: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Children: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Should not be used with other drugs without consultation with a registered physician to avoid possible drug interaction
Contraindications
- Not to be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
