Indications

Composition
- Sterile solution of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride and Sodium Acetate
- Contains Sodium Chloride BP 0.5 g per 100 ml
- Contains Potassium Chloride BP 0.1 g per 100 ml
- Contains Sodium Acetate BP 0.393 g per 100 ml
- Contains Sodium 134 mmol per litre
- Contains Potassium 13 mmol per litre
- Contains Chloride 99 mmol per litre
- Contains Acetate 48 mmol per litre
Dosage
- Dependent on patient's requirements and physician's judgement
- Varies with age, weight, and clinical condition
Administration
- Check infusion set and solution prior to use
- Tear off the protective cover of the Eurohead
- Insert the spike of the administration set to the Eurohead
- Clean the venipuncture site with an antiseptic solution
- Start infusion while adjusting drip speed
Side Effects
- Severe burning, pain, or swelling around the IV needle
- Warmth, redness, oozing, or bleeding at the IV site
- Fever, ongoing cough
Precautions & Warnings
- Infused with caution in patients where electrolyte imbalance may cause detrimental effects
- Should be carefully used in pregnancy, renal impairment, heart failure, pulmonary congestion, head injury
- Careful usage in patients receiving potassium sparing diuretics
