Composition

  • Sodium Chloride BP 0.6g
  • Potassium Chloride BP0.04g
  • Calcium Chloride BP0.027g
  • Sodium Lactate 50% solution USP equivalent to 0.32g of Sodium Lactate
  • Per litre contains Sodium 131mmol, Potassium 5mmol, Calcium 2mmol, Bicarbonate (as lactate) 29mmol, Chloride 111mmol

Recommended Dosage

  • Varies with patient's age, weight, and clinical condition
  • Up to 100-drops/minute/70kg body weight
  • Dosage calculation for burn patients according to the Parkland formula

Administration Instructions

  • Check infusion set and solution prior to use
  • Gradually allow the fluid to flow down to the needle tip
  • Clean and secure the veinpuncture site and needle
  • Adjust drip speed for infusion

Contraindications

  • Relatively contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus
