Indications
- Treats hypovolemia caused by surgery, hemorrhage, trauma
- Corrects hypovolemic shock
- Treats plasma loss caused by intestinal obstruction, burns
- Used as fluid and electrolyte replenisher
- Alternative to Sodium Bicarbonate in treating metabolic acidosis
Composition
- Sterile solution of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Lactate
- Contains specific amounts of each ingredient per 100ml
- Contains specific mmol quantities per liter
Dosage
- Depends on patient requirements, age, weight, clinical condition
- Recommended flow rate up to 100 drops/minute/70 kg body weight
- Dosage for burn patients based on Parkland formula

Contraindications
- Relatively contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus
Side Effects
- Mild swelling in hands, ankles, feet

- Not studied in animals or known impact on pregnancy, use only if clearly needed
Precautions & Warnings
- Should not be administered rapidly or for prolonged periods
- Use with caution in patients with electrolyte imbalance
- Immediate discontinuation if rigor arises or solution is compromised
