Indications
- Treatment of hypovolemia caused by surgery, hemorrhage, and trauma
- Correction of excessive sweating, severe diarrhea, vomiting, and excess loss of fluid by nephritic kidneys
- Fluid and electrolyte replenisher
- Treatment of severe plasma loss caused by intestinal obstruction, burns, or denuding skin conditions
Composition
- Ingredients:
- Sodium Chloride
- Potassium Chloride
- Calcium Chloride
- Sodium Lactate
- Amount per 100ml:
- Sodium Chloride BP: 0.6 g
- Potassium Chloride BP: 0.04 g
- Calcium Chloride BP: 0.027 g
- Sodium Lactate USP 50% solution: 0.32 g
- Electrolyte Content per Liter:
- Sodium: 131 mmol
- Potassium: 5 mmol
- Calcium: 2 mmol
- Bicarbonate (as lactate): 29 mmol
- Chloride: 111 mmol
Dosage

Contraindications
Relatively contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus
Side Effects
- Mild swelling of hands, ankles, and feet from fluid retention
- Rarely, lung complications leading to breathing difficulty
- Possible symptoms include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and inflammation or swelling of injection site veins
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C. Use only if clearly needed after careful consideration of potential risks
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with electrolyte imbalances and specific medical conditions
- Discontinue infusion if rigor arises for any reason during process
