Pharmacology

• Glucosamine is a natural amino-sugar
• Building block for biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs)
• Formation of proteoglycans
• Helps to form ligaments, tendon, nails and connective tissues
• Increases Glucosamine level in the body
• Activates chondrocytes in the cartilage
• Chondroitin Sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan found in connective tissue
• Protects existing healthy cartilage from premature decline
• Synergistic effect with Glucosamine Sulfate

Dosage and administration

• 250/200 mg tablet
• 1 to 2 tablets, three times daily
• Dose may be adjusted according to the response and body weight
• Doses can be tapered after 60 days

• 750/600 mg tablet
• 1 tablet two times daily or as directed by the physician

Interaction

• No significant drug interactions reported
• Chondroitin may enhance the blood thinning effects of anticoagulants like Warfarin, Heparin
